We are unable to program keyless entry fobs, this must be done inside the vehicle. We ask for the info at checkout to enable the BCM to that option.
Why do you need my VIN?
This unit was used in various models and to ensure the unit you receive is programmed to your vehicles factory specs; we will require your VIN unit to program this data to the replacement.
In these vehicles your VIN must be programmed to sync with other components in the vehicle. For instance, if your VIN does not match, your radio will not function.
Mileage Programming:
The mileage is stored in 2 places, the BCM and the instrument cluster.
The odometer will not show a lower mileage then what is currently on it. For example: Odometer shows 90,000 miles. BCM is programmed to 80,000 miles, the odometer will not move until the BCM catches up to the mileage currently on the cluster. Which will be happen in about 10,000 miles.
If a higher or same mileage is programmed to the BCM that is showing on the odometer, it will reflect that. The odometer can only go upwards, not backwards.
LOWER MILEAGE: If you want us to program the replacement BCMs mileage to a number lower than what is currently showing on your odometer, you must send us your instrument cluster to match it. Please reach out to us after you place the order for the address and to let us know you are sending the cluster.
HIGHER OR SAME MILEAGE: If the mileage needed is the same or higher than what shows on the cluster, include your mileage in the notes section during checkout. No instrument cluster is needed.
Technician’s Notes:
The GMT355 was built to be the successor to the dependable GMT325 but unfortunately, they did have some issues with the body control module due to the lack of moisture protection.
Replacing the BCM with our rebuilt unit should also fix passlock issues.
The BCM is located behind the passenger side kick panel.
