Programming Details:
To ensure seamless integration with your vehicle, the VIN must be programmed to sync with other components.
We also ensure each unit has the latest OEM, VIN matched software from GM. This may be beneficial if your original unit software is out of date causing rough shifting, idle issues, or stalling.
Mileage and engine hours will remain unaffected after installation.
After Installation Notes:
The keys may need to be programmed or the vehicle will not start. This key programming procedure can be done in the vehicle without tools using programming instructions we will provide with the unit.
In addition to key programming a crank shaft position sensor relearn may also be required. After a replacement ECU is installed in these vehicles it’s common for a service engine light (code P1336) to be present. The vehicle will operate as normal without issues but to clear the code, a repair shop that has the capability of doing a “crankshaft position relearn procedure” may be required.
Other acronyms for the engine computer: ECU (Engine Control Unit), ECM (Engine Control Module), BCM (Body Control Module), PCM (Power Control Module).
