Programming Details:
In these vehicles your VIN must be programmed to be synced with other components in the vehicle.
We also ensure each unit has the latest OEM, VIN matched software from GM. This may be beneficial if your original unit software is out of date causing rough shifting, idle issues, or stalling.
The mileage and engine hours will not be affected after installing the replacement unit.
After Installation Notes:Â
The keys may need to be programmed or the vehicle will not start. This key programming procedure can be done in the vehicle without tools using programming instructions we will provide with the unit.
In addition to key programming a crank shaft position sensor relearn may also be required. After a replacement ECU is installed in these vehicles it’s common for a service engine light (code P1336) to be present. The vehicle will operate as normal without issues but to clear the code, a repair shop that has the capability of doing a “crankshaft position relearn procedure” will be required.
